Frequently asked questions about project firefighting
How quickly can CEPT start?
For a first assignment we are usually on the project within five working days. The first two weeks serve solely to establish the facts; we make reliable statements about completion dates only after that. Starting early pays off, because room for manoeuvre shrinks with every week.
Does project firefighting replace the existing project management?
No, we work alongside the project management and hand control back in full once the assignment ends. Only in exceptional cases and for an explicitly limited time do we take on a role in the project ourselves, such as schedule control. The goal is always to make the project team capable of acting again.
What does a firefighting assignment cost?
We work on a day-rate basis with a fixed scope for the first two weeks; an offer for the continued assignment follows after that. The first block is deliberately small so you can decide freely once the facts are on the table. We do not offer success fees, because they set the wrong incentives in a project in crisis.
